FloristWare Screen Shots: Product SelectionOnce you have captured and/or confirmed as much customer information as possible we move on to product selection. This usually begins with choosing a general category of products. You get to specify whatever categories you like. FloristWare shows you all of your categories and sorts them by popularity - the most popular products appear at the top of the list and the least popular at the bottom.
Of course you are not limited to choosing from the categories you have defined - the yellow buttons at the bottom give you several other options. The "Custom Product" button will allow you to create a custom product for this sale, but you can also use it to specify a generic product - kind of like the catch-all department you have programmed into your existing cash register. "Search For Products" lets you do just that - you enter all or part of the name of a product and FloristWare will find any matching products. The center two buttons help you work with the current list of categories. As we mentioned the list always starts out sorted by popularity. If you click "Sort By Name" FloristWare will sort the category list alphabetically by name. Clicking the "Sort By Popularity" button will put the most popular products back at the top of the list. The "Show Customer History" shows you all of the products the current customer has purchased in the past. This comes in very handy when a customer says something like "I bought something two years ago. I don't remember what it was but I really liked it and I want to buy another one just like it". The "Show Recipient History" button is similar but even more specific. It comes in handy when the customer is sending flowers to someone else. It shows you everything that customer has ever purchased for that person.
Each listing shows you the name, brief description and price for the product. You select a product by clicking the green or yellow button. "Select & Review" selects the product then shows you details and gives you a chance to edit them. So if, for example, you selected a dozen roses in a vase the Select & Review button would let you specify the color, filler flowers and more. "Fast Add" skips the review step. The buttons at the bottom act much as they did in the Category section. They let you sort the list of products in different ways, select a different category or choose a product by different means entirely.
