Carver Flowers – 2010 MNSFA Retail Florist of the Year
Annette Hentz, lovely person, talented florist and one of our favorite clients, received some great news at the Minnesota State Florists Association Annual Convention this past weekend. During the gala dinner on Saturday night her shop, Carver Flowers, was named 2010 Retail Florist of the Year.
Annette Hentz, Carver FlowersWe were stunned, as we are a small community florist that is relatively new to the floral industry. But we were assured that the award is not given to the largest floral retailer, nor to the one who has been in business the longest. Rather, the award is given to "the active Association member who has promoted high standards and professionalism not only to the industry, but also to the community that they serve."
We sincerely thank MNSFA for this honor!
Established in January, 2009, Carver Flowers is full-service floral design studio located inside a 145-year old historic building in downtown Carver MN. Their retail space includes loose flowers and arrangements, flowering and green plants, silk floral wreaths, greeting cards, candles and other unique vintage/cottage home decor and gift items on display. Custom floral arrangements are made fresh to order, including wedding and sympathy designs.
Annette has a passion for flowers and retailing in her blood. Her mother single-handedly ran Isaacson’s General Store in rural Embarrass, MN for 16 years while Annette was growing up. As a teenager her husband Al used to work in his cousin’s flower shop in New Jersey. Their yard in Carver Bluffs is full of flowers from early spring to late fall – serving as ample evidence that Annette has been an avid gardener for 15 years.
