FSFA 2015 Mid-Season Design Summit: Bloomin' Revival

One of the two major events in the FSFA schedule this mid-season event takes place at Carlstedt’s in Tallahassee the weekend of January 17 and 18.

A number of great sessions and events are planned. One of the best will be a session by Jeff Corbin called “Reality Florist: Can you Cope in Today's World”. Jeff is the owner of a very successful flower shop in VA and a very popular speaker – he always educates and entertains.

The design contest FloristWare is sponsoring is a body art design competition called “Decorating Your Sunday Best”. The FSFA describes the competition this way:

Share your talent, creativity and showmanship for a chance to win cash prizes. In keeping with our theme, “Bloomin Revival” design a wearable floral art piece (corsage, wrist band, hat, necklace, tie, are any floral related composition that might be part of your Sunday Best.). 50% of your piece must be fresh product. Your art must be wearable. You must be a FSFA member or work for a member shop. You may model yourself or choose a model to display your art on stage. Music will be provided as model your piece as part of the runway procession.

There is a $25.00 entry fee and participants can register online. The prize for first place is $100. Second place gets $50 and third gets $25.

The volunteers and members of the Florida State Florists Association are some of the nicest and hardest working people in the flower industry. Their events are always fun and they are amazing to work with.

The FSFA also includes some incredibly talented designers – at least four of the 2014 Sylvia Cup participants were FSFA members – so competition is sure to be fierce and the designs spectacular. The Sylvia Cup is one of the most prestigious floral design contests in the world making this a remarkablee statistic.
