On June 7-8 SAF will again be hosting their annual Retail Growth Solutions event, this time in Hartford CT. This is one of the very best events in the floral industry, and any florist that can possibly attend really should try. If you aren't sure here are four good reasons:
Not to everybody, but there are a huge number of florists within a four hour drive including those in Philadelphia (under four hours), New York (just over two hours) and Boston (under two hours). Four shops in that area it is almost crazy not to go – no airfare, only one night in a hotel and one day away from your store.
As mentioned above Growth Solutions is really condensed. Some shops might find it hard to take four days to attend the annual SAF Convention, but with Growth Solutions you are only away from your shop for one day (Monday). Leave home Sunday night and be back late Monday much more educated.
In some ways Growth Solutions is almost like a greatest hits package – the very best sessions and speakers from the larger and longer SAF Annual Convention in one more compact package. For example the session "Treasure Hunt: Finding Your Hidden Profits" from Derrick Myers – Derrick is the best specialist in retail floral in the business and his sessions are always fantastic. And any sessions from Tim Huckabee of FloralStrategies (this time "CSI: Flower Shop — Live!") are always very popular and worthwhile – his methods can be put into place as soon as you get back to your shop, and will start making you more money immediately. And keynote speaker Jim Dion is one of the most respected consultants in retail.
Everything we mentioned above makes the event very affordable. For a huge number of florists there is no airfare, and only one night in a hotel. Meals are included. You are only away from your store for one day. And the registration cost is very reasonable.
