Tim Huckabee of Floral Strategies presented two sessions at SAF 2015 on how floral shop owners can coach their staff to improve sales and earn customer loyalty.
Tim Huckabee of FloralStrategies was back at SAF this year with two sessions. The first was Test Calls Workshop: Raising the Bar on Floral Shop Sales. This eye-opening session, based on his CSI:Floral Shop column in Floral Management, had Tim making live test-calls to shops owned by workshop attendees.
This session focussed on showing how implement a few small changes to the way your flower shop staff take an order over the phone can increase sales and create a relationship with the customer.
Tim began by asking the florists in attendance if they would like to volunteer their shop to be contacted. He started with shops that had never had his training and workshop attendees, who were listening over speaker phone, then rated each call based on set criteria. Tim then phoned two shops who had the FloralStrategies training and the difference was clear.
Tim’s second session, Sales Management for Wimps, took the idea further and showed how to turn even your “old-style’ seller, who is resistant to change, into an engaged seller.
Tim’s sessions are always popular with floral shop owners because his strategies are effective, and he gives them ideas and tools you can implement immediately in your shop.
