The Arkansas Florists Association offers three education programs. The Introduction to Floral Class is ideal for beginners looking to learn the basics of floral design: color theory, design principles, and essential techniques. The Arkansas Master Florist Class is based on the AIFD standard of elements and principles, and provides a pathway to CFD certification. The Advanced Arkansas Master Florist Class is open to florists that have taken Arkansas Master Florist Class or have AIFD Certification and 2 years design experience.
Annual Convention
Each year the AFA hold a conference, usually in Little Rock. The convention features educational sessions, networking opportunities and a floral design competition.
Design Competitions
Each year at their annual convention the Arkansas Floral Association hosts two floral design competitions – the Arkansas Cup and the Mid America Cup. Both of these competitions used the FloristWare Design Competition Scoring App in 2023 and will again in 2024.
