The North Carolina State Florists Association (NCSFA) is run by a group of hard-working volunteers including floral industry luminaries like Jody McLeod AIFD.
Convention
The NCSFA hosts an annual convention somewhere in North Carolina each summer. These events include a floral design competition with a number of different divisions and themes, main stage presentations, hands-on workshops and a variety of networking and social events.
Education
NCSFA education is overseen by a dedicated Education Chair and offered through different channels:
The North Carolina Certified Professional Florist (NCCPF) School
This school offers a pathway to obtaining North Carolina floristry certification (NCCPF). The instructor is Stephanie Garrett, AIFD, NCCPF, CFD, a veteran florist with more than 20 years of experience. This school is also a route to NCCPF certification.
Annual Convention
The annual NCSFA convention includes all kinds of education, such as main-stage presentations from leading designers and hands-on workshops.
Hands-On Design Workshops
NCSFA offers a variety of hands-on design workshops in various locations throughout the state all through the year.
Online Classes
Different courses from the NCCPF curriculum are also available for online study on the NCSFA website.
NCCPF Certification
The NCSFA offers the North Carolina Certified Professional Florist (NCCPF) designation as a way of recognizing members that have completed the required courses and proven their proficiency in all aspects of the floral industry. Receipients are added to the NAFA (National Alliance of Floral Associations) national registry as Certified Florists and recognized at the annual convention with an official certificate.
