You didn’t become a florist because you like reading reports every day.
But wouldn’t it be great if you had the reports you need at your fingertips, to help you make better business decisions?
FloristWare gives you that option, with up to XX different reports to help with all your accounting, production, marketing and scheduling needs.
Sure, that may seem like a lot of reports, but we’ve created so many because at one point, one of our florists told us it would be helpful to have that particular information.
You may never learn to love running reports… but you will love the peace of mind that comes with easy-to-set-up, easy-to-use FloristWare Reports.
Reporting Features For Flower Shops
Before we get to the individual reports let's take a look at some of the reporting features:
Control Exactly Who Gets To See What
The advanced granular security features in FloristWare mean that you get to control which employees have access to the reporting section. There are likely some employees in your shop that should never need to view any reports and FloristWare makes that easy to control.
But it goes so much farther than that. You also get to control which individual reports each user can generate, as well as whether they can print or export them. For example you might want a delivery driver to be able to generate a delivery report, but not have access to financial reports. And you probably don't want anybody but your manager (and maybe not even them!) to be able to generate reports that show wages. FloristWare gives you control over all reporting in your flower shop.
Powerful Exporting Options
FloristWare makes exporting report data easy and understandable – just create the report you want and then choose the format you prefer, where you want it saved and the name.
Automated Printer Selection
The advanced printing features in FloristWare mean you get to skip all print dialog boxes encountered with most other systems. You choose a printer for reports and FloristWare will print all reports there by default. Unless of course you want to select a different printer in a specific sitution, which is also very easy to do.
Sort & Summarize Many Different Ways
Many of the reports in FloristWare allow you to sort and summarize them in several different ways. This makes them easier to understand and act on. It effectively turns many of the reports into even more reports. You'll see how in the individual report descriptions.
Most Popular Reports For Florists
FloristWare offers a lot of different reports but these are the ones florists are telling us the find most helpful when trying to manage a flower shop today:
This report lets you see the value of your receivables, deposits and floral inventory over time. This might not seem like a big deal but almost every other floral POS/flower shop accounting system only lets you see your receivables in real time. FloristWare lets you look back and see what you had in AR, deposits and inventory at any date in the past.
Daily Sales Report
Arguably the single most important report in FloristWare, the one most flower shops run every day.
It's a little like the old "Z" report you would run from your cash register, but with a lot more information and possibilities.
For example the Daily Sales Report does not have to cover one day only – you can use it to cover as many days as you specify. And those days don't have to be consecutive – you could select all the Tuesdays for example. And you can include or exclude individual stations and stores (if you have more than one).
Some of the information on the Daily Sales Report includes:
Total sale volume, sale count and average order value.
Sales By Hour
The total sale volume, sale count and average order value (before and after discounts and sales taxes), for each hour, as well as the percentage of the overall total for each.
Sales By Day Of Week
The total sale volume, sale count and average order value (before and after discounts and sales taxes), for each day of the week, as well as the percentage of the overall total for each.
Sales By Month
The total sale volume, sale count and average order value (before and after discounts and sales taxes), for each month, as well as the percentage of the overall total for each.
Sales By Quarter
The total sale volume, sale count and average order value (before and after discounts and sales taxes), for each quarter, as well as the percentage of the overall total for each.
Sales By Type
The total sale volume, sale count and average order value (before and after discounts and sales taxes), for each Sale Type (as defined in your settings), as well as the percentage of the overall total for each. This is a great tool for understanding the nature of your business.
Sales By User
The total sale volume, sale count and average order value (before and after discounts and sales taxes), for each of your users, as well as the percentage of the overall total for each.
Payments By Method
The volume and count of payments by method, as well as the percentage of the overall total for each.
Orders By Fill Method
The total order volume, count and average value (before and after discounts and sales taxes), for each fulfillment method (cash & carry, pick-up, local delivery and wire out), as well as the percentage of the overall total for each.
Sales By Product
The total sale volume, sale count and average order value (before and after discounts and sales taxes), for each of the products in your catalog, as well as the percentage of the overall total for each.
Weather & Notes
This lets you record your notes in general as well as specific notes on weather etc. This is very handy if in the future you (for example) want to know what kind of sales to expect (and how to plan and staff for) an extra snowy Tuesday in March, a very rainy Thursday in April or a very hot Saturday in July.
If you are one of the growing number of flower shops that are doing consignment sales this report will make it so much easier. Select a reporting period and it shows you the relevant consignment sales. It also summarizes by each different consignment vendor (the consignor) and shows you the total owing to each. When it's time to settle up with your consignors you won't believe how easy it is. The Consignment Sales report is just one of several tools to help florists profit from consignment sales.
This is a great report for shops that encourage productivity by rewarding designers based on the value of the orders the produce. It shows you the value produced by each designer for whatever period you specify, making it quick and easy to calculate compensation.
This is a great report for shops that value smart selling and reward order-taker based on the value of the orders they generate. It shows you the value generated by each order-taker for whatever period you specify, making it simple to calculate sales commissions.
This is not a complete least of the reports that help make managing a retail flower store easier. For more information please schedule a call and let us know exactly what you are looking for in a floral accounting/reporting system.
Worried About The New Colorado Retail Delivery Fee Sales Tax?
In May 2022 the state of Colorado introduced a new sales tax called the "Retail Delivery Fee" that retail florists have to start collecting on July 1, 2022. It seems rushed, and it's a new kind of tax with some pretty crazy rules that could definitely cause florists some trouble. If you aren't familiar with it we have an FAQ to get you up to speed.
At FloristWare we have always taken the unglamorous job of sales tax collection and reporting seriously and have made sure that our flower shop software will automate the correct calculation of these new delivery fees, properly disclose them on receipts and invoices, and offer a simple report that makes filling out the new delivery fee return form DR 1786 quick and easy. FloristWare makes it easy for Colorado florists to do everything right.
